Same family. Same griddle.
Yiannis and Eleni Kostas opened the doors in 1987 with eleven stools and a two-page menu. Their daughter Despina runs the floor now, and their son Niko has had the griddle since 2009. The stools are the originals. So is the pancake recipe.

I've had the Tuesday turkey plate probably two hundred times. Despina knows my coffee order before I sit down.

Pancakes at 11:30 on a Saturday night after the late train. Nowhere else in town does that.

We ordered three whole pies for Thanksgiving and they were boxed and waiting at 7am. The coconut cream didn't make it to dinner.

What people ask us.
Anything else, call or text. A person answers, 6am to midnight.
Call (201) 555-0147
Do you take reservations?
No. Counter and booths are first come, first served, and the line moves fast. For a party of six or more, call ahead and we'll hold a table for 15 minutes.
Is breakfast really served all day?
Until we lock the door at midnight. The griddle never goes off, so a short stack at 11:45pm is the same short stack as at 6am.
Can I order a whole pie?
Yes: $32, with a day's notice; the week of Thanksgiving, two days. Call or text and tell us the day you're picking up.
Do you deliver?
Pickup only. Call or text your order and it's ready in 15 to 20 minutes. You get it hot, and we get to say hello.
Is there parking, and do you take cards?
Metered street parking on Washington and the side streets, and the city garage on Hudson Street is a two-minute walk. We take every card, cash and tap-to-pay.
Anything for kids and vegetarians?
Kids' plates are $8.95 with a drink. Every omelet, the Greek salad, the veggie burger and most sides are vegetarian, and the disco fries can be made with mushroom gravy.
Hungry now? We're open.
Six to midnight, every day of the year but two. Call or text an order, or just come sit at the counter.
